Game Day in NYC: Notre Dame vs. Rutgers

Mar 13, 2013, 12:50 PM EDT

The tournament has arrived for the Fighting Irish…

After a couple days of practice in the Big Apple, #24 Notre Dame takes the court tonight against Rutgers in the last of four second round BIG EAST tournament games.

The game is scheduled for 9 pm ET on ESPN2, though you might say that start time is contingent upon how many overtimes Villanova and St. John’s decide to play in their 7 pm contest (Even if the Wildcats-Red Storm game is decided in regulation, the Irish won’t tip-off until close to 9:30).

Back in January, Notre Dame defeated the Scarlet Knights at Purcell Pavilion, 69-66.

Tonight, the Irish will face a squad coming off of a 76-57 win over DePaul. The Notre Dame defense will look to slow down Wally Judge, the Rutgers forward who was 9-for-9 from the field with a season-high 20 points, to go along with 10 rebounds on Tuesday.

In preparation for the game, Notre Dame spent about 45 minutes on the court at Madison Square Garden prior to the Cincinnati vs. Providence matchup, before heading over to The Sports Club/LA for a walkthrough on Wednesday morning.

If you can’t watch on ESPN2, you can also catch the game on the WatchESPN app, listen to the radio broadcast on UND.com or follow along on Twitter @ndmbb.
