With the season set to begin in less than a week, NBA franchises are cutting their rosters and gearing up for the road to the playoffs.

On Monday, news broke that Ben Hansbrough (’11) had made the Indiana Pacers roster, joining his brother, Tyler, in Indianapolis.

Blue & Gold Illustrated’s Wes Morgan recently caught up with Hansbrough to talk about his journey from college to the NBA.

Then earlier today, Tom Noie of the South Bend Tribune tweeted a link to an article from AZCentral.com, reporting that Luke Zeller (’09) was named to the Phoenix Suns 15-man roster.

Whether or not Hansbrough and Zeller enjoy extended time in the NBA remains to be seen, but it’s been a great week for Notre Dame basketball fans, and a proud moment for Irish head coach Mike Brey.

Tomorrow night, Purcell Pavilion plays host to a preseason finale, as the Pacers and Chicago Bulls meet at 7 pm, and it will certainly be a special evening as the Notre Dame faithful welcome Hansbrough back to South Bend.

Stay tuned to “In The Paint” for more coverage of Hansbrough’s homecoming.
