The Notre Dame men’s basketball team headed to New York City on Sunday evening, in preparation for its Tuesday evening showdown with St. John’s (7 pm ET on ESPN2).
The Irish (14-2 overall, 2-1 BIG EAST) will seek to bounce back from this weekend’s home loss against Connecticut, while the Red Storm (9-7, 1-3) is also looking to rebound after falling to Georgetown on Saturday.
Last season, St. John’s ended Notre Dame’s eight-game BIG EAST winning streak with a 61-58 win on Feb. 25, so you can bet the Irish will have some extra motivation for getting a win at Madison Square Garden.
After a meal and film session this morning, Notre Dame made the short trip from the team hotel to “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” practicing on the same court where it will play tomorrow night.
Here are a few photos from the trip so far, as well as a game preview with assistant coach Martin Ingelsby. Stay tuned to UND.com for more about the game, and make sure to follow @NDmbb on Twitter for other updates from the Big Apple.
